VRE Example of Creative Article Publishing

Combining the concepts of VRE (Virtual Real Estate) with some creative article publishing tactics can yield some interesting results. A couple months ago while searching and buying some new niche domains, I stumbled on and bought a generic name of DugInto.com as part of my new package of niche domains. It was one of those inspirational moments of impulse, and the next morning I promptly reprimanded myself for buying a domain that was not part of my plan. The main problem was I really didn’t have time to develop the concept I had in mind when I bought the name. So now, what to do with it?

Domain parking never really appealed to me, although it’s better than some of the blank or generic landing pages I’ve left up on sites waiting for content. This time I tried something a little different. I needed to accomplish a few things with this domain with very little outlay of time or effort. And, a seven letter domain should not be idle if it’s to grow to it’s full potential and value. What I had in mind was the link and traffic building benefits of a blog, without all the time investment for upkeep. Yet a variety of content to start drawing traffic from many corners of the search engines would definitely fit this domain’s future that I have in mind. And I didn’t want to set up an auto blog either, again because of what I want to do with this domain later on. What I came up with is currently holding the domain active, generating plenty of natural traffic, and it is about to start paying off in some unexpected ways.

The first thing I did was to install an Expert WordPress package in the site root. This would be the hub of my linking and Web2.0 effort, with very minimal time involved. Expert Wordpress is unrivalled in this category, in my humble opinion. It’s the package that runs this blog as you can see in the right hand column. It seems to me that search engines love the internals of this package even more than WordPress itself. And, out of the seven (yes seven) servers I’ve had this software on, the only time I’ve had any problems was on an ultra-tight security server that has ongoing issues related to WordPress and Web2.0 of any kind (that server hates the new ftp layer I’m told).

Next, from the same supplier, I grabbed a package of niche PLR Adsense sites from Expert Content Monthly. Using the free keyword analyser they supplied me, I selected some niches based on traffic and search results, and re-titled the individual sites, and set my keywords and affiliate coding. Then I set up a series of subdomains as nichetitle.DugInto.com, and made a blog post linking to each new subdomain. And just because it’s a hobby, I made a header image to tie the overall theme together (the packages come with header graphics, but again, I like to play with design). Since this is a holding site, I didn’t even make any changes to the PLR articles. I registered with Technorati and bookmarked with ShareThis, and set about adding a few niches every week or two.

Expert Wordpress took over from there, and in the first 72 hours my site was crawled by dozens of search indexing spiders, and it hasn’t slowed down a bit. I’m building traffic steadily and look forward to over 1000 visitors in this the third month, with hits from countries I cannot even pronounce. All with what could be termed “lazy bum marketing with PLR” and no additional effort.

Nothing too out of the ordinary yet, but here’s where the light came on. Phase two will include as an experiment, adding subdomains to display content from my niche sites at other domains (seperate servers to keep the link juice), kind of like a mini article directory of sorts. Lots more backlinks for my niche sites, and a creative way to publish my articles. Who knows? I may even scrap my origional plans for DugInto if my adsense clicks keep growing. And, since I can load the site with niche products through my membership at Unselfish Marketer, I may just have created at mini-gold-mine. The main thing though, is I’ve created a VRE site that generates income on near autopilot, and a new tactic and tool for creative article publishing from my other niches.

Head over to DugInto.com and check it out. Then think about how you could do this with a VRE type site of your own, or maybe even tweak the concept and become dominant in your niche by using this model. The related sites and resources are here:
